PhD Positions in Safe and Intelligent Control for Multi-Agent AI-Physical Systems

  • Earliest start date: April 1, 2026.

We are seeking multiple PhD students to join an international research project on safe and intelligent control for multi-agent AI-Physical Systems (APS). The project aims to craft next-generation control architectures that bridge natural-language-based AI reasoning and real-world physical autonomy.

In collaboration with partners at leading universities in North America, this research explores how AI models and control theory can work together to realize intelligent, explainable, and safety-guaranteed physical systems.

Candidates are expected to have research achievements and strong interest in one or more of the following areas:

  • Multi-Agent Systems – game theory, distributed optimization, control barrier functions
  • Formal Methods for Control – temporal-logic-based control, supervisory control theory
  • AI – large language models, low-rank adaptation, physics-informed neural networks

Demonstrated coding ability is a plus.

The PhD positions are fully funded, with additional support for research stays at partner institutions in North America.

If you are passionate about bridging AI reasoning and feedback control, please send your CV (PDF) to: [email protected]
